Manali, a beautiful mountain valley in Himachal Pradesh: Manali is a stunning mountain valley settled at the foot of the hills. The striking place is surrounded by hills and decorated by flowing streams is a great destination for the tourists. The city is situated at 2,050 meters above sea level on the banks of the River Beas. Rafting in the wild Beas is an additional attraction for the adventurous travelers. Rohtang Pass:
It is positioned at an altitude of 2500 meters, 16kms from Manali. This place is special for winter sports like snow scooting, skiing, mountain biking and hiking. The best time for visiting this pass is from May to June and from October to November. Breathtaking views of the Glaciers, river Chandra, Rahala falls, and the Lahaul Valley is purely divine.
Chandrakhani Pass:
This place is well known for hiking or trekking. It is located at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level. The scenic beauty of this area is marvelous.
Solang Valley:
Solang valley is famous for the glaciers and snow-covered mountains. It is only 13 km saway from Manali. For the skiing enthusiasts January is the best time to visit this valley. The attractions here are camping, parachuting, paragliding, horse riding.
Nehru Kund:
Nehru Kund is a natural spring, which is 5 km from Manali city. The kund was named after Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, first Prime Minister of India as he used to drink water from this spring when he stayed in Manali. This excellent location for photographers and nature lovers. The luxurious greenery of the area and the pure water offer spectacular scenery. It is a perfect place to relax one.
Civil Fort:
The historic city is famous for the paintings collections of the renowned Russian artist Nicholas Roerich.
Kothi: The place is 12 km from Manali and its famous for the sweeping view of the mountains and waterfalls.
Manikaran:
Manikaran is located in the Parvati Valley on river Parvati about 35 km away from Kullu. It is located at an altitude of around 1800 meters. This small town attracts tourists for its hot springs and pilgrim centers.
Kullu: Kullu valley is very near from Manali. The whole area is encroached by rivers, mountains, waterfalls and impenetrable pine tree. This is a hot destination for the tourists around the world.
