These are the famous Hindu temples of India:
a) Somnath
temple, Gujarat: It is famous Hindu shrine admired for the presence of one Jyotirlingas among 12. Somnath Temple is located at Veraval in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. According to the Rig Veda, Somnath temple was constructed by God Chandradev Himself. The temple has been destroyed and re-constructed more than 17 times. Devotees donate billions of rupees to the temple every year.

Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple, Mumbai - Maharashtra: It is a Hindu temple of Lord Shri Ganesha. Though the temple is not so big but it is one of the richest temples in India. The wooden doors of the temple are designed with images of the eight appearance of Ganesha in Maharashtra. The inner roof of the temple is plated with gold, and at the centre, there is a statue of Ganesha. Just beside the main temple there is a Hanuman temple as well which is a part of the Siddhivinayak temple.

Ramanathaswamy Temple, Tamil Nadu: The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the famous twelve Jyotirlingas. This is one of the most visited temples of South India. The temple has two Shivling. According to Hindu Shastra, one of the lingam was made by Mata Sita and the other one was brought by Hanuman.
d) Vaishno Devi Temple, Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir: It is one of the holiest shrines of Hindus in Katraat the Trikuta Mountains. It’s a cave temple of Goddess Mahalakshmior "Mata Rani". The cave ‘sis of 30 meter long with a height of 1.5 meter. According to the myth, Vaishno Devi killed a monster that was hiding inside the cave. The cave temple is divided into three parts.

Temple, Bihar: It is one of the holy places for the Buddhist. The temple has been declared as the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
f) Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Varanasi - Uttar Pradesh: Kashi Vishwanath Temple is famous for the presence of one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The temple is located in Varanasi on the western banks of the holy Ganges. Kashi Vishwanath temple is one of the most sacred shrines for Hindus. It is believed that after taking a dip in the holy Ganges followed by the worshiping of Lord Shiva at the Vishwanath Temple leads to 'Moksha' (salvation). The temple has been shattered and re-built several times in the history. Lastly, it was destroyed by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for constructing a mosque on that place. The current temple was founded by the Maratha ruler, Ahilya Bai Holkar of Indore in 1780. Two domes of the temple were covered with gold that was donated by the Maharaja Ranjit Singh. And the third dome had been gold plated by the Ministry of Cultures & Religious affairs of U.P. Govt. later.
g) Kamakhya Temple, Assam: It is one of the fifty one ‘Shakti Pithas’. This temple is reflected as the most hallowed place for tantric worship.
h) Shai Baba Temple, Shirdi - Maharashtra: Sai Baba is an Indian yogi and spiritualist. This saint is called as "Shai Baba' by his devotees. There are no records available about his parents, his real name or birth place. The town's name was formed as 'Sai Shirdi' after his arrival in this town of Maharashtra. Then the devotees built the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple here. Sai Baba Temple is one of India's richest temples. The temple has an asset of about 32 million of silver jewelry6 million worth of silver coins. Each year approximately 350 million is donated to the temple by Sai Baba's devotees.

Tirupati Balaji Temple, Andhra Pradesh: The temple is in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. It is a marvelous architectural monument. The temple is located at height of 2800fts on the 7th peak of Tirumala hill which is considered as world's second most antique hill. The Tirupati temple is also called as Venkateswara Temple. Lord Venkateshwara is the living personification of God Vishnu. The temple was founded by the Tamil king Thodimannen. Everyday more than 50,000 - 100,000 people come to visit the temple. Temple's possessions are around Rs 50,000 crore.
