Char Dham - Namchi, Sikkim
Namchi is a prime tourist spot and pilgrimage centre of North East India, located in South Sikkim. The Char Dham Temple which is the major attraction of Namchi is about 5 kms from Namchi, situated on top of the Solophok Hill. This holy place is well known for a 108 feet magnificent temple with the 87 feet high statue of Lord Shiva.
The replica of twelve Jyotirlingas inside the temple is another attraction for devotees of Lord Shiva. As per the Hindu belief, religious Hindus who can't visit the existing four Dhams (namely Badrinath, Dwarka, Puri and Rameswaram), may also get Moksha, by worshiping Lord Shiva at char Dham temple located in this premises.
The temple complex consists of the Shiva Statue with 12 Jyotirlingas, Char Dham, Sai Temple, Kirateshwar, Nandi bull (the ride of Lord Shiva), Kirat Dwar and Shiv Dwar.
The morning hymns starts at 9 am Pooja takes place time to time. The mandarins open 12 hours a day. There is an entry fee of Rs. 50/- per adult. You can carry your mobile and camera though no photography is allowed inside any temple here.
