Delhi
It's a union territory and Delhi city itself is the capital of India. The city has expended so quickly in last few years that the whole territory now almost comes under the city only. Delhi is the second largest city of India just after Mumbai with a population of more than 120 million and an area of 1500 sq. kms. The temperature of the area can varies from 5oC to 20oC during winters and 35oC to 50oC in summers. People of Delhi mostly speak Hindi, English, Punjabi or Urdu.
Delhi is one of the very old and historic cities. The city's name is even mentioned in the epic 'Mahabharata'. As per records, Hindu King Anangpal, is the first emperor who had ruled Delhi during 1060 AD followed by the King Prithviraj Chauhan until the foreign invasion by Md. Gauri. After the victory, Gauri gave this land to Kutubuddin Aibak, one of his brave army leaders. After Kutubuddin, Delhi had been subsequently ruled by the Khilji, Tughlak, Sayyad and Lodi Dynasties. In the 1526, Babur established the Mughal rule in the northern part of India including Delhi. Later, as a part of India, it was under the British Empire from 1857.
In the year 1947 India received the independence from British and Delhi become one of the union territory. Delhi is carrying all the historic signatures all through the city.
