Holi in India
Holi is a famous festival of India which is also known as festival of colors or spring festival. The festival is celebrated all across India especially in Barsana, Mathura & Vrindavan (Uttar Pradesh), Shanti Niketan & Purulia (West Bengal), Anandpur Sahib (Punjab), Jaipur & Udaipur (Rajasthan), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Delhi, and Hampi (Karnataka).
Holi (originally known as 'Holika') is an ancient festival of India which is believed to be celebrated by all people from Eastern part of India. The festival is full of fun. Love and energy can be spread amongst the people with the grand celebration of Holi. During spring, the change of weather normally causes viral fever. At this season, playing with the natural colors has a great medicinal significance.
The colors are usually made up of Neem, Kumkum, Haldi, Bilva and other medicinal herbs. The powder's color may vary from orange to red, green, yellow, blue, magenta, purple, or brown.
