Taj Mahal - Agra, India

Taj Mahal is located on the south bank of the Yamuna River in Agra. It was built in 1653 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved begum Mumtaz Mahal. This splendid ivory-white marble crypt was made by twenty thousand workers with an expense of around 32 crore rupees.

In 1983, Taj Mahal was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This master piece has been admired universally. The monument is opened for six days a week (Friday closed) from Sunrise to Sunset and again at night from 8:30 pm to 12:30 am.
