Sri Harimandir Sahib (The Golden Temple) Amritsar India

The Golden temple Amritsar, India a symbol of brotherhood and equality and it is a central religious place without any hindrance everybody irrespective of cast, creed or race can seek spiritual solace.

The temple represents distinct identify, glory and shikhs heritage. The philosophy, ideology, the inner and other beauty, there was the historical legacy of Sri Harimandir Sahib is a momentous task. 3rd Sikh guru Amar Dass Ji advised by the 4th Sikh Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji started the digging of Amrit Sarovar of Sri Harmandir Sahib in 1577 A.D., later it was on brick lined by 5th Sikh Guru Sri guru Arjan Dev Ji on December 15, 1588 and he also started another project of the construction of Sri HariMandir Sahib. After its compilation the first head priest was scripture of the Sikhs Sri Guru Granth sahib.

This temple has a unique Sikh architecture of Amritsar India. This temple built at a lower level than the surrounding land level. The Gurudwara teaches us the lessons of egalitarianism and humility.

The best time to visit this temple actually at night when the palki sahib ceremony takes place. Dozens of devotes act as a human conveyor belt to convey the Granth Sahib from the main shrine to the sanctum, it is kept for the opening ceremory the following morning. Visitors may participate in the ceremony. For the visitors this temple should be respectful of the Sikh culture. Smoking and alchol is not allowed throughout the complex, and visitors must be remove their shoes and also heads must be covered at all times.
